In the past, Realtors® were viewed as real estate match makers. Now, we are your real estate consultants.
It is so true. With all of the data that is at your fingertips, face it, you are seeking the advice of a Realtor® to be your consultant through the process. You may have already seen all of the details about the Northern Virginia Real Estate market on Zillow, Trulia, Red Fin, or even my brokerage’s Arbour Realty website, but that doesn’t mean you know how to analyze the proper price and you need some assistance with negotiating the terms and getting through the real estate transaction as a whole. I have even gone so far as to call this profession being a happiness consultant. This is because as a Northern Virginia Realtor® and EcoBroker, you really have to know how to balance what people are looking for, play mediator, negotiator, matchmaker and ultimately have everyone smiling around the closing table.
As a real estate professional in this day and age, there are so many details out there to go through with the client from the area, to the price point to the home inspection and the ultimate negotiation and closing details that the average person who doesn’t have real estate knowledge can get the gist from perusing the sea of data provided on the internet, but it doesn’t make provide them the security that having the real estate expert on their side does. Experienced real estate professionals in Northern Virginia will be able to help someone looking to buy or sell a home navigate all of those waters.
In this day and age of being a real estate consultant in Northern Virginia, I have found that I have to constantly be on the move. I have to know my markets, I have to know the roads, know the ropes, know the contracts and know how to negotiate. Having the strong understanding of construction science and energy efficiency from being an EcoBroker helps along the way, of course, and when it comes time to go through the home inspection, I give my clients that added security of being able to help them truly understand what the inspector is talking about and then being able to negotiate the best possible outcome from there. When working with my sellers, being an EcoBroker also allows me to market the home’s energy efficient features to help the home stand out from the crowd. Being a good real estate agent in Northern Virginia means that you have to work hard, and know what you are doing. I’m not afraid to work hard and I’m certainly not afraid to say that I know what I’m doing in my field.
Realtors® are still matchmakers, the good ones just now have to have the consultant style approach to their business skill set to set them apart in this Northern Virginia real estate market. As an educator and sharer of information, I have what it takes and then some to be your agent.
