S. Austin

South Austin. Hmmm. Why do people think that it is so very different? Well, South Austin… Ocean of blue in the sea of red. Have you heard that phrase before. This is true towards South Austin. There are more quirky, artistic, entrepreneurial, foodie centric, music, all of the things. South Austin is going to be a bit more expensive than North Austin. Think Travis Heights, Riverside, SoCO, Zilker and as you go further south. The average median home price in Austin is over $600,000. Real Estate in Downtown are higher, Buda, Kyle, San Marcos are not South Austin. Remember, these are separate cities. Just think about that when you’re searching. Here is the thing, South is not the same as Southwest Austin. Southwest Austin is where you start finding communities like Travis Country and Circle C, which is entirely different in vibe and feel than what people are feeling and experiencing in the great North/ South Austin debate. Home to breweries and distilleries, more BBQ joint access.
