Buda

Literally just south of Austin, Buda has a historic charm on their main street which is seeing a major small town charm vibe and captures what an old railroad town really feels like. From the Sunday Farmer’s markets hosted by the Chamber of Commerce to the movie’s in the park and annual Weiner Dog races, Buda has much to offer to those who want to find suburban life, or even hill country life in Western Buda. Luxurious options in areas such as Elliot Ranch, Ruby Ranch and Oak Forest offer those seeking ranchettes and interesting extra territorial jurisdictions which lend towards feeling more like Driftwood than Buda. Close to the Saltlick and the charm of other small hill country towns, Buda is finding its own and has much to offer. Something to consider when looking in South Austin is the commute and if you can find a home that hits more of your wickets with a 2-3 minute additional commute setting you in Hays or Buda.
