N. Austin

Whoa Nelly. This is a big discussion. North vs. South. Long have people wondered which part of Austin is better or why are they so different? North Austin is very much the tech hub. Interesting enough, Austin has always been the “keep Austin Weird” mantra, but N. Austin has generally been the conservative/ suburban vibe. Some people try to lump areas in Williamson County into Austin. This is not north Austin. Pfluggerville is Pfluggerville. Cedar Park is Cedar Park. Leander is Leander. Round Rock is Round Rock. These are suburbs of Austin. These are NOT north Austin. but ok. Some people may say this. N. Austin is more suburban. Are there parks? Yes. Are there fun things and great restaurants and good schools? Yes. Are there lots of things to do for food and fun in North Austin? Downtown could likely be considered North, because it is still N. of the river. You’re likely going to have to drive more in the more suburban areas further north… Downtown is highly commutable, and since it is North of the river, technically N. Austin if not Central. Let’s try to not ever lump Central Austin or cities into N. Austin. This isn’t an accurate way to search. Home of the Austin FC, the Domain and those goodies.
