If you are into the environment, you will love that Travis Country was the Austin area’s first environmentally planned master-planned community in Travis County. Cool, fun fact. Rolling into Southwest Austin, Travis Country is dappled with ranch-style homes, late 70’s split levels, some newer Georgian and Federal style homes, which were built in the later 90’s and typically you will find homes. Much like Steiner Ranch on the other side of the river, Travis Country is made up of sub-associations (Woods of Travis Country, where you will find townhomes; Park at Travis Country, Lost Creek at Gaines Ranch Village Park at Travis Country, Trailwood Village at Travis Country, and Travis Country Green). If you’re looking for suburban design, great common areas, being close enough in to MoPac and 290 to get you downtown in 20-30 minutes or out to Dripping Springs in about the same, Travis Country is a great pivotal spot. Plus, you have all of the fun shops and dining at the Sunset Valley Shopping center and then you have the Hill Country Galleria just down the way in Bee Cave. AISD is your school system here in Travis Country. For a mature, established community in Southwest Austin surrounded by greenbelts and parks, Travis Country is a great spot.
