Ah, the sparkling lights and sounds of the new urbanism that is Shirlington. We love it. Spring time (which is official on the 21st- thank goodness) makes the cafe’s and Piazzas of this urban village come even that much more alive! That is why we have teamed up with ACE for a Spring update and the one of our favorite restaurants on the strip, Samuel Beckett’s for a sweet Spring happy hour to liven Green Drinks Arlington up for the season!
About the Speaker: Arlingtonians for a Clean Environment (ACE) promotes stewardship of our natural resources and practical solutions to a sustainable lifestyle in order to protect water, air, and open spaces in the Arlington community. We will have The ACE program coordinator, Kari Kramer, come on down to share with us what awesome events and programs ACE has up their sleeve for the coming months!
About the Venue: “As you look through our menu you may think “this is not the Irish food that I am used to seeing” Our menu is a collaboration of items from old Ireland to modern Ireland. We are trying to present to you an example of what we loved to eat growing up in Ireland and what is now popular from some of our favorite haunts back home. We promise to offer you the freshest produce, and source as much as we can from local suppliers. We have a mixture of staff from local talent, to staff that we have brought over from Ireland. We would like you to think of us as your stepping stone to Ireland. Our ambassadors will try and answer all your questions on Ireland while serving you great comfort food and premium drinks in a warm environment. So why Samuel Beckett’s you might ask? I was trying to find some connection locally when thinking of a name for the pub. While walking down Campbell Street it was there staring me in the face. The theatre was my link. Shirlington village is very much an artistic neighborhood, and signature theatre is one of the best in the country. Signature theatre actually has actually performed several of Beckett’s plays.”
