Permanent Change of Station: a big ‘ole move, that uproots you and puts you in a new, exciting community!
Our last PCS brought us to Northern Virginia- and here we shall stay. Honestly, when faced with the PCS, I really wasn’t sure who I should talk to about trying to get acquainted with my new community, especially because we didn’t know anyone in the area- yet! Since my husband was not going to be on active duty, I didn’t really have a tight-knit community of other military wives to talk to about what to expect in when relocating to the Arlington area. My natural inclination was to find a professional who seemed to know the area; yes, I sought out to find a Realtor, who shall we just say, didn’t end up being so very helpful for us in our personal home search in Northern Virginia. However, my experience with this Realtor made me think- you know what?!- I need to create something super-useful for people looking to relocate to the DC Metro area, military or otherwise!
