On Wednesday, 3/2, over 150 folks came out to support the Arlington Food Assistance Center. Thank you.
Our local Artists were able to bring inspiration, share creativity and spark joy and thoughtfulness in everyone around, while driving awareness to a great cause. We raised over $1500 in cash for AFAC and 270lbs of food for the 2200 folks in the community who need our daily support.
Without you, this would happen. You have made us successful for yet another fun year! Next year will be even bigger and better.
For the 6th year in a row, Green Drinks Arlington’s founder, Genevieve Concannon has teamed up with the brilliant creatives at Sweet Root Village and Tammy Bjorge to bring you a festive party to engage the community in local art, beer and the spirit of Community… Since we love Arlington, there is no better time to come together to celebrate and give back to one of our favorite Arlington charities! We bring you the Sixth Annual Heart+Pints Bazaar!
Since we had another successful event last year, we have added even more local artisans and boutiques from Arlington and Northern Virginia! We hope to arouse your senses with food, fun and creativity and foster more community growth. Shop local artists photography, paintings, pottery, glass art, floral design, gift baskets and more while listening to laid back music and sipping drinks. Doesn’t that sound better than wresting people for trinkets for your sweetheart at the Mall or just popping on Amazon- boooorrring? Yeah, we thought so!
Join us and enjoy music, and beer in Samuel Beckett’s downstairs gallery space in the heart of Shirlington with unique art by various local and free-trade artists and health conscious vendors!

Entry: Suggested donation of a canned-good to benefit AFAC, our local area food bank. Our goal is to donate over 500 lbs of food to them.
All food donated will go directly to AFAC.
A portion of proceeds from Samuel Beckets will go to AFAC.

A bit about the Artists:
Sweet Root Village is an inspired community of local artists and designers collaborating to create fabulous events through their inspirational photography and design eye! They specialize in photography, event planning and decor, and floral decor. They also offer videography, makeup artistry, custom music composition, and graphic design services! DIAMANTINA designs, manufactures and distributes fashion-forward leather handbags and accessories targeted to stylish men and women in tune with fashion trends, and who are appreciative of avant-garde designs and modern aesthetics. Our collections include a wide variety of exclusive handbags, designer belts and wallets, all showcasing a wide variety of colors and textures. DIAMANTINA was created from the partnership of two good friends who share a passion for fashion and wanted to provide job opportunities to skilled men and women from their home country, Argentina. Behind Diamantina there is the legacy and support of a family-owned Argentine business, which for generations has specialized in producing and exporting genuine leather garments.
Marsha Lederman holds BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and is currently a freelance illustrator, designer and fine artist living with her family in Arlington. Recently she has returned to her love of sculpture and is working as a resident artist at the Lee Arts Center where she has been creating terra cotta sculptural pieces and kiln fired jewelry using PMC clays, which become solid metals such as bronze and most recently white copper which is reminiscent of pewter. PMC is made from recycled metals, and the pieces are finished with filing and burnishing. She often incorporates other materials, sterling silver, fresh water pearls or cubic zirconium. Yoga imagery and nature are the main themes she has been exploring recently. Her work includes books, greeting cards, nature, and logo work for both nonprofits and corporations and she loves to be able to add humor whenever possible. She also accepts commissioned portraiture: people, houses, and pets. Most goods stocked in our shop are handcrafted by solopreneurs and produced in small batches, often times in the artisan’s home. We believe that shopping small means supporting a new american-made economy and when your hard earned money is supporting a craft and a real person/family, it feels pretty damn good to spend it! We are a little family residing in Alexandria, VA – a product designer/maker & shop girl Mom, woodworking Dad, 2 pint size pixie daughters, and a sad face bulldog.”
Christine Olmstead– Fall in love with Christine’s story, let along her gorgeous fine art! “When I was 18 months old my mother (a lifelong professional artist and graphic designer) gave me a set of watercolors. The paint set is long gone, but I’ve been painting ever since. I’ve studied art history and recreated all of the masterpieces to learn technique, stroke, and color palettes. I’m a nationally recognized artist with a bachelor’s degree in classical liberal arts. I’m mostly influenced by soothing music and the french impressionists, namely Monet and Degas. When you look at my pieces I want you to feel at peace, calmed, and hopeful. I want my viewers to know that there is still beauty left in the world, and I hope to inspire others to find beauty in their ordinary lives. Forsaking the cubicle life, I’m pursuing what I love with the people I love. As a full time artist and part time graphic/web designer, I have a *wonderful* husband and an imaginary cat.”
Mintwood- Make new friends in Heloise and Caroline! “Heloise believes that being comfortable in your home is essential to being happy. While studying education in graduate school, The Washington Post approached her about doing a story on her rental basement apartment, which she transformed into a beautiful, budget-friendly retreat. Soon after the story ran she traded in her chalkboard for a job working with a top DC design firm. While Heloise loved interior design, she ultimately found it too exclusive and cost prohibitive for young professionals. Particularly frustrated with buying custom pillows—trade-only fabrics, high prices and long lead times—she set out to simplify the process and make great design more accessible.With a background in marketing and graphic design, Caroline has always had a passion for all things creative, with an emphasis on design and interiors. After six years in the corporate world, Caroline was itching to find a professional path that was more creative.Whether it’s managing the company’s social media presence, planning features with prominent bloggers or designing and executing a new marketing campaign, Caroline has been a crucial part of the company’s growth and success from the very beginning.”
Margaret Moya– At the Moya Gallery, we co-operate with a group of the most talented artists who continuously search for new forms of expression, breaking with accepted practices and conventions. The objects available at Moya Gallery are unique in their nature. The jewelry shown here combines many artistic domains.
