More like a sign of a lifelong friendship, I do my darndest to find the perfect closing gift for my clients.
It is not a parting gift at all; it is a welcome home gift. I have found that when I have worked with my clients for months, weeks or years, even, we really and truly get to know each other. Well, hopefully we have! Buying a home is a very intimate thing; so personal and full of emotion. As a Realtor, I get to see the good the bad and the ugly in people (hopefully mostly the good) but I will take all sides and get to know the real you so that when the time comes to find the perfect closing gift for you after we’ve found the absolute most amazing home for you and your family, I can give you some things that will help you feel right at home there.
My most recent client had been deployed for over 4 years and hadn’t lived on the same continent as his family in a very long time. Their new home is going to give them a place where they can be together and spend many happy moments in the lovely, huge yard with their precious family dog and even hang out on the deck to do some grilling. I thought it would be fun to get them some lawn games so that their whole family could enjoy the yard together. In a basket, I had an array of family friendly organic sparkling juices, and the accoutrements to make smores on their next grill out! For that happy family dog, I got him a shiny new collar with the family’s new address engraved for him… we don’t want to leave anyone out. I want to make things personal. I want to know what your favorite things are and what I can do to make you feel more settled in your new home so when you get there, you feel like you never missed a beat!
At my last closing, the receptionist told me that my little basket wast the most thoughtful closing gift basket she’d ever seen. I asked her why… she said it was because it looked like I’d actually bought a gift for a friend. I thought to myself… well, she’s right. That was an awesome client who happened to want to get a kitty when she moved into her new condo and she said she wanted to maybe have a basket for the kitten to sleep in on the window sill in her master bedroom. I also had gotten the scoop on what all of her favorite actors were, and had a movie night in a basket, so she could curl up with her new kitten when that time came. I think she liked that idea…
I want to get to know you and help you through the process… Tell me a little bit about yourself! Let’s get started.
