Gen’s Fall 2014 NoVa Market Update
Fall is generally an interesting time of the year across all markets, we see the tail end of the Summer inventory finishing out, and buyers who are serious are typically still buying. Here in Northern Virginia, we’re definitely seeing that. With interest rates as low as they have been in ages, we have seen a definite uptick in the buyer activity in a market that seemed to start languishing. Across all markets, open houses are seeing more traffic, and homes are starting to get offers again.
One more juicy tidbit about our DC Metro Area market place… We’re being told that we’re the most expensive place to live! I beg to differ. New York City, Manhattan, San Fransisco have it up on the DC Metro area. Yeah, we do definitely have some good salaries, and a higher joblessness rate, but we definitely are not the most expensive place to live. Let’s say no to that little tid-bit.
Exciting News!
I wanted to be the first to share with you that I have changed brokerages to Real Living | At Home, a Berkshire Hathaway Affiliated Company. It is really wonderful and exciting news, because I am heading up the flagship Virginia office, based in Arlington. It’s going to be an amazing experience, and imagine… the service that I already provide… only amplified even stronger with more for my clients! Wowzahs!
Grace is still my fabulous assistant; together, we’re working hard to bring some fabulous new construction homes and resale properties to the Northern Virginia Market.

We are excited to announce that Genevieve Concannon is the newest preferred realtor at Arlington Community Federal Credit Union! The partnership will allow Credit Union Members to utilize Gen’s Northern Virginia Real Estate knowledge and expertise to have a seamless real estate transaction!
Gen put together a Tree Canopy Initiative for the Nauck Community in May. The Nauck Civic Association, in conjunction with the Arlingtonians for a Clean Environment and The Arlington Tree Stewards worked with Gen to inform residents about the free large tree canopy trees. The trees will be delivered and installed in late Fall.
Gen has been working hard to bring more amazing programming to the AFAC group and will be keeping you posted on the Art+Pints benefit that she, Marina Ospina and The Sweet Root Village team will be planning soon!
