Advon is an evolution... Why? We are always in motion, we are in the Center of the State and are grounded here and because Genevieve’s mother always had hummingbird feeders when she was growing up, and she still keeps them. Year after year, Genevieve remembers watching them come back to the place where the feeders would hang and they would swish through the air watching and waiting for the nectar to be delivered for them. These elegant birds were displaying many brilliant traits beyond being gorgeous. Patience. Persistence. Shrewd intelligence. They seemed to be having fun, while glittering through the air. Genevieve loved watching them and have always thought of them like jewel boxes that flew. Hummingbirds are not just tiny, little necessary beautiful creatures - they are communicators; they are facilitators; they are sustainable; they are territorial; they are tenacious; they are sassy; they are zippy; they are social; they are strategic; they are loyal; and they are smart, because they understand patterns and abundance.
They are Advon, which is an advanced echelon. The naming of the company took quite some time. There were hundreds of names that were scrutinized and reviewed, and the perfect name was discovered in the middle of the night, when Genevieve's husband, a former Army Captain, who happened to serve on the Advon Team that helped prepare for the III Corp's arrival at Camp Victory in Baghdad, sat up and said, Advon would be a great name for what you do. Yes! It sure would...The Advon or torch teams in the military are those who go into the frontline as the primary logistical team. They are the best and brightest, they are the boots on the ground who set up the whole outfit for the battalion, so that everyone knows who is doing what and how to proceed with the mission in a strategic, thoughtful way.
