Should we fear appraisers?
Some people ask at this seller’s market… What is the point of them in the sale of our house.
Fear an appraiser??? not at all. Appraisers have a job that is an art and a science of understanding market, condition, and value.
They are the ones who help a bank understand value based on their 3rd party valuation that is to be impartial and unbiased. Since they are a third party contractor, they don’t work for the bank or for you as the home owner.. don’t fear them! Know they have a unique knowledge base, and hope that when they are working on your appraisal they have come from our market to do the appraisal.
We can always request a LOCAL appraiser on nonVA loans (a product we have no control over whatsoever).
