As the Springtime real estate season kicks off, we have already gotten some amazing clients come our way. Some of whom are looking for very specific properties; it seems to happen that way sometimes when there aren’t many properties on the market. A buyer may want a three bedroom, two bath home, but all that is on the market in their target area are two bedroom, one bath homes. This is less than ideal for people looking to buy the home of their dreams. Are these buyers going to just settle, or wait it out for more inventory on the market? Does this mean that now is the right time to put your home on the market?
A current situation we have seen in our Arbour Realty Ballston office with one client who desperately wants to live at a specific condominiums is that we are actually asking current home owners if they are looking to sell. We have had a few potential sellers let us know that they could be getting ready to sell their place based on our specific inquiries for this particular
client. You never know when the right moment is going to occur and we could serendipitously match our buyer with a seller who didn’t think they were going to be selling their place. When it is right, it just works out.
If you’re getting ready to put your place on the market, Springtime is statistically the right time, as people start to move around more outside with the warmer weather, and the plants starting to do their showy displays. A little Spring cleaning nudge doesn’t hurt either! Buyers typically want to start looking for a home with the anticipation of moving in the late Spring or early Summer months, or when it is going to be the easiest to get kids out of school, etc. With the cherry blossoms on their way to full bloom, we should start seeing more homeowners putting their property on the market, and these hopeful buyers having much more to choose from, bringing them well on their way to finding exactly what they are looking for.
