I have a dear friend who recently moved from Northern Virginia to my hometown of Austin, Texas. She is absolutely amazing, and can make, create, dream anything into reality. Her name is Waleska Town and she is simply precious. I have to say that I feel like I was only scratching the surface on getting to know her when she and her adorable family found out about an amazing opportunity that whisked them away to the ATX from Old Town, Alexandria. Wally’s company, UpCircle Studio provided space to up-cycle children’s clothing, make/design/create projects from letterpress to candles. One of my favorite things she did was host events that brought people together to make things in a group. Intentional friendships and “gal-entine’s” instead of Valentine’s was a huge hit, and if you want to see some of her original inspiration, check out this adorable collection she made.
Also, for your viewing pleasure, I have included Jett-setters supposedly romantic Valentine’s gimmicks that just plain aren’t romantic. It is funny.
