I was among twelve wonderful people nominated for the Arlington Green Patriot Award through George Mason University and Arlingtonians for a Clean Environment and even though I didn’t win, I was honored to be a part of such an elite group of nominees through GMU’s office of Sustainability.

Genevieve is someone who makes things happen. She brings people together and gets results. She is founder and president of Eco-Op, a dedicated group of the top environmentally focused professionals servicing the DC Metro area who are are committed to sustainable business practices in their own operations, with many also offering sustainability services to their clients. Genevieve is a co-founder of Green Drinks Arlington where she organizes speakers about sustainable topics for monthly social gatherings at local green establishments. Genevieve has also organized the very successful Annual Holiday AFAC Fundraiser and Art Fair for the past three years, raising much needed money and food donations for the Arlington Food Assistance Center.
In all that Genevieve does, she is an amazing communicator. I consider her a social media guru as she effectively promotes sustainability through skilled use of blogs and articles. Her sustainable messaging educates the community and moves people to action. As voice of the Green Gobbler for the past three years, Genevieve promoted services of Conway Energy and educated consumers on ways to decrease energy usage, save money, increase comfort, and breath healthier air, as well as other sustainable living techniques.
