South Arlington is where it is at: Nauck
Perfectly situated along what Arlington County has called the Shirlington Crescent, Nauck is a community of forty-six acres that stretches from the Army Navy Country Club, to 395 down to Four Mile Run and Walter Reed Drive. This historical, beautiful and vibrant community is nestled in a spot that has some peaks and valleys, and my very favorite spot is at the top of Ft. Barnard Park, the highest part of Arlington, one of the original bastions that protected Arlington during the Revolutionary and Civil Wars. Now, a historical park and a community with multiple historically designated homes and features, Nauck, Nauck Green Valley, Fort Barnard Heights and what lays in the Shirlington Crescent are some wonderful homes dating from the 1920’s all the way to present day new construction.
Speckled with parks, the Drew Model School and a number of fascinating local haunts, Nauck is a community rich in heritage and community pride. September’s community Pride Day put on in conjunction with the Civic Association and the Macedonian Church, the community gets together to celebrate their originality and welcome new members. Located in a fabulous commuter location right at the junction of 395 and Glebe, and less than a mile to the adorable Shirlington shop and restaurant district, Nauck offers a true South Arlington living experience.
