Sacramento, CA is big on art, sustainability and all things political.
After a short but sweet visit to California’s Capitol, Sacramento, I found some awesome things out about the California Environmental Protection Agency’s building which was nestled into the heart of the downtown district. I was able to take a short trip through the building’s interior, but couldn’t take photos inside, but when I got back outside, I did take a quick video for you so you could see some of the nifty things that Cal. EPA incorporated into this gigantic commercial building that made it one of the first LEED Platinum and Energy Star rated buildings in the nation. From the great use of natural materials to the recycled content in all of the carpets, as well as a very strong recycling protocol for the facility itself and locally sourced eucalyptus panels to the xeriscaped exterior this building is beautiful and does the job of being the champion of the environmental causes that the EPA serves. Large building… small impact on the environment.
