A Local Northern Virginia interior paint master takes eco-friendly paint disposal to the next level. No one wants an Epic Fail in their car… Am I right?
How many times have you painted a room, used half of the paint and then sealed it up and put it on a shelf next to the other paint that you did the exact same thing with? Then you walk into the basement, plop the can next to the stack of primer that is who knows how old, maybe it actually belongs to the original owner?! Not only is she one of my amazing trusted vendors, she has just launched a paint disposal program for Northern Virginia homeowners and condominiums and is ready to start helping us dispose of paint in an environmentally friendly way! Here is the scoop on this brand new program that is being offered right here in Northern Virginia:
Wall Transformation Designs– an interior paint decorating company est. in 2004– is now providing a “green” old paint can removal service. WTD will conveniently come to your building and remove cans of old paint and stains and transport them to WTD’s facility in Northern Virginia. WTD then uses a green process to prepare the paint for its ultimate, legal disposal, also in Northern Virginia.
Many condo owners and renters may wish to discard old paint because 1) the paint has expired, or 2) they need to create more storage space.
Many condo owners and renters find difficulty in disposing old paint because 1) building bylaws restrict the ability to do so;
2) Home Depot, Duron, Benjamin Moore, etc. will not take old paint cans because of environmental liabilities. (If you find one that does, it is a local exception to their corporate policies.); 3) lack of time resources to transport to a proper facility; 4) people don’t want to transport paint in their cars for fear of spillage.
The building directly benefits because it 1) Mitigates the Facilities Manager’s time and resources to clean up or dispose of paint improperly disposed of through the garbage chute, and 2) The building will earn “Community Bonus Points” that will count towards its LEED or Earth Craft Certifications.
We know of no other company that provides this service, and thus imagine there may be a need for such a service with your building residents.
