Arlington County has not only proclaimed September 15- Oct 14 Farm to Table Month, but they have also put together some great local restaurants, eateries and events in and around Arlington for you sustainable foodies out there. Check it out!
Farm to Table Month Proclamation
WHEREAS, urban residents can help protect family farmlands in Virginia by supporting Arlington’s Farmers Markets and dining at restaurants that partner with local farms; and
WHEREAS, local foods are fresher than those transported from great distances; and
WHEREAS, by purchasing locally-produced foods, residents assist in strengthening the regional economy; and
WHEREAS, in Arlington, seven restaurants and one grocery store have committed to offering meals made from locally-produced ingredients during Farm to Table Month;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Barbara Favola, Chairman of the County Board of Arlington, Virginia, do hereby proclaim September 15-October 14, as
FARM TO TABLE MONTH
in Arlington County, and urge all individuals and families to enjoy the many restaurants in the county that feature locally raised ingredients; and to shop at Arlington’s farmers markets and the family farms located within a 125 mile radius of the county.
