For the Eighth year in a row, Genevieve has organized a benefit to inspire the community to think about Local and Free-Trade artists while bringing awareness to a meaningful cause. This Year, the cause has shifted focus to Domestic Violence and women in crisis. Gathering together local and free-trade artisans as well as makers and crafters for an evening to benefit the wonderful non-profit, Women Giving Back (WGB), Advon Real Estate is hosting the 8th Annual Heart+Pints Bazaar Thursday, March 8th from 5pm-9pm.
This fantastic opportunity for local artists to showcase their talents and contributions to sustainable efforts while being able to give back to the community- hence the donation to WGB and an otherwise free event for the community are what the 8th Annual Heart+Pints Bazaar are all about. With such a successful event in the years past, we have added more local artisans and hope to arouse the senses with food, fun and creativity while bringing awareness to the WGB’s ever present mission of serving women & children in crisis by helping transitionally homeless women and children get on their feet with clothes to help them enter the workplace and fit in at school at no cost.
The event will be held in the art-inspired craft ale house, Dogfish Head Brewery 6220 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church, VA 22044- SEVEN CORNERS on Thursday, March 8th from 5pm to 9pm. Gently used women’s or children’s clothing are recommended to gain entrance to the event and will directly benefit WGB. Dogfish Head Brewery is generously donating a portion of the bar to WGB and holding Happy Hour specials for the duration of this public event. Various local artisans will be proudly displaying their creations which include items ranging from fine art, fused glass, pottery, photography, jewelry to paintings. A silent auction to benefit WGB will also be held during the event. Please bring cash or checks; as only a few vendors will accept credit cards. Entry can be gained with the suggested donation of a gently used clothing for women and children and all proceeds from the silent auction sales, as well as the collected items will be donated to WGB. Last year over 500 lbs of donated items collected and $2,500 was raised for the program. Over the last eight years, over $25,000 has been raised across all charities highlighted at this event.
More about Women Giving Back (WGB): Women Giving Back is an incorporated 501©(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing clothing to Northern Virginia women residents who are transitionally homeless. WGB has distributed over 300,000 items of clothing to more than 23,000 women and 15,300 children from over 100 shelters in Northern Virginia. WGB- The Store is very successful helping women get professional clothing, and they have to restock each month. They need continual donations of good quality clothing to support their program. Mission: To serve women & children in crisis by helping transitionally homeless women and children get on their feet with clothes to help them enter the workplace and fit in at school at no cost.
